Some Like it Hot

is the name of the Marilyn Monroe movie that was filmed on location at the Hotel del Coronado, the crown jewel of this island and also a favorite spot of mine.

Sunday Janine, Lorette and I went for Sunday brunch in the Crown Room at the hotel.

Check out the Crowns in the ceiling.

The Bloody Marys were apparently to die for according to my friends

After brunch we strolled through the hotel and enjoyed the shops and all the Christmas decoration.

The annual Christmas ornament. I bought one.
The hotel features a signature ornament every year.

Oh, yes, they are more than ready for Christmas!

Make your own Bellini.
Pick your juice and then add some Cava!
Splendid idea!

Good Morning from Coronado!

I get up early every morning and enjoy my coffee on the beach which is heavenly for me who is a sucker for alone time.

This guy really wanted my bagel and a couple of fly-bys :-)

Since we are staying at the Naval Air Station Coronado, which is a military base, we have the entire beach outside the hotel almost all to ourselves which feels like great luxury. A world of its own in a world of its own sort of: On Coronado and on Base. We could not be safer, really.

Lunch down by Ferry Landing on the bay side of the island.

The teenagers took the ferry across while I had an appointment
with my fantastic Life Coach Wendy Kranz

A trip down to the outlets Las Americas right on the Mexican boarder and the girls
are now all set for winter and beyond in regards to clothes and shoes.

A P-3 taking off from the Naval Air Station.
Nostalgia!

Saturday we drove over to Ocean Beach where Bella and I did some antiquing
and then we all had lunch with a view at Wonderland.

I always have the Ahi Tuna Wrap @ Wonderland. It is to die for.

 Great lunch view!

My daughter Emilia to the left with Christopher & Jessica.

Saturday afternoon my dear friend Lorette came over to the Navy Lodge with her two children Christopher and Jessica who both are friends with my girlies from when we lived in Japan and where Jessica, who is 22 years old, used to baby sit the girls. Christopher entered the Navy and is onboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt. Lorette, you should be a very proud mama!,
